A new study has attempted to identify the places that would be best-positioned to carry on if the world as we know it collapses due to climate change. According to the analysis, the leading candidates are:

1. New Zealand
2. Tasmania
3. Ireland
4. Iceland
5. Britain
6. The United States
7. Canada

The results were derived from a model that assumes that countries that could become self-sufficient (i.e., generate enough food and energy) and that are isolated enough to prevent a mass influx of refugees will fare relatively well in the event of a global disaster.
